Unforgettable Serie - Maria Cecilia de São Thiago

"To photograph and manipulate images is to think about the depth of human relationships".

Minding that in 2015 Maria Cecilia started the restoration and editing of stereographic negatives on glass plate made by her father between 1929 and 1944. old, now in their 90s. 

Access the past via photography and memory, since, to some extent, it depends on a narrative construction, always brings with it an incorporating dimension of fiction and surrealism. 
The artist created a whole universe from family records, and based on the stories that were told to her throughout her childhood, lived by her 4 older brothers, more than two decades before her birth, a strong bond was created. of ancestry and belonging.

Making use of the tools and devices of our time she transforms these images taken almost 100 years ago into poetic visual diaries of an experience she would have liked to have, providing a self-cure through photography and reducing the nostalgia he always had, for a time she never lived.
